If you wish to start a scholarship at the time of bereavement, it is not necessary to contact CSF immediately. At the request of the next of kin, the funeral director will include in the obituary notice "Donations may be made to the _______(Name)_________Scholarship, CSF of Bedford, P.O. Box 585, Bedford, MA 01730." This will notify family and friends of your wish. When ready, the family may contact CSF of Bedford directly. The family's wish as to the type of memorial scholarship may be determined at this time.
If you would like to endow a scholarship award each year to a deserving graduate to perpetuate the memory of your loved one(s), consider creating a Permanent Memorial Scholarship through CSF. A donation of at least $5000 is required to establish such a scholarship, and contributions towards it may be made over time. CSF will invest the donated funds. The interest income will be used to provide a Scholarship awarded at the annual Spring Scholarship Ceremony, on behalf of the person(s) remembered by the Scholarship.
For a donation of $500 or more, a One-Time Scholarship will be awarded at the annual Spring Scholarship Ceremony.
For memorial contributions totaling less than $500, the donation amount will be combined with additional monies from the CSF General Fund. A one-time Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student at the annual Spring Scholarship Ceremony.
